Eris Weather API

Eris is an open source weather API to get the current weather condition across the globe. The project is licensed under GPL-3.0. The technology stack solely consists of Spring Boot framework which can be hosted in any platform that supports Spring Boot.

Eris aims to aggregate various open weather and location services to provide free and easy to integrate service to get the current weather condition alongside with recommendations based on scientific weather metrics such as Heat Index, Wind Chill, and UV Index.

The live version of the API service is hosted on Heroku. which handles 100K requests per day.

Eris serves as the backend app of Simple Weather Indicator to get weather condition and calculates “feels like”.

The project name is inspired by the Greek goddess of strife and discord.
